
The thinkorswim Collegiate Trading Competition is a nationally held options and equity trading competition with many participating universities from around the country. Some past participating schools include University of Texas, Texas A&M University, Oklahoma State University, University of California, and University of Wisconsin. Each school is allowed to have up to three teams, graduate included, consisting of at least three(3) and up to five(5) participants per teams. The teams will be trading on a real-time thinkorswim trading platform. There will be a practice round prior to the start of the competition that ends in a live WebX (online tutorial of the platform). The competition will then start the following opening day with a one month duration allowing adequate time to research and apply different trading techniques.
Structure:
To be released Summer 2011 for the Fall 2011 competition.
Rules:
- Each team will start with $100,000.
- Each team must make at least one trade per week.
- ONLY students will be allowed to participate in the competition. Formal help from professors or professionals is prohibited.
- The team with the largest return at the end of the four weeks of trading will be the national winner.
Prizes:
First Place: $1000*
Second Place: $500*
Third Place: $250*
