Our semesters are packed with things to do. Below are just a few of the events and activities that the Finance Association has to offer:
- Big Brother Big Sister Mentoring Program
The Big Brother Big Sister Mentoring Program is designed to help pre-business students learn more about being a finance major. Students would be paired up with upperclass finance majors based on which track they picked, or are thinking about picking. Example, students thinking about choosing the Global Energy Management Track would be paired with a GEM Track upperclassman. Of course the program is open to all majors; example, students thinking about becoming an accounting major would be paired with an accounting major upperclassman. Students would be able to ask their mentors about which classes to take, receive help with homework, form study groups, basically anything that they need help with.
- Community Service Projects
We are involved in many community service events. Some of them include:
- AIDS Walk
- Avon Walk for Breast Cancer
- Bayou City Arts Festival
- Chevron Let’s Grow
- Children’s Festival
- JDRF Walk for Diabetes
- Heart Walk
- Houston Food Bank
- Houston Zoo Boo
- NCAA Final Four
- Ripley House
- Trash Bash
- Corporate Professional Meetings
The Finance Association will host events where our corporate sponsors will come to campus for an information session about themselves. These meetings will begin with reception at 6:30pm and start at 7:00pm.
- Corporate Tours
Every semester, we have the opportunity to visit some of our corporate sponsors. This gives our members a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see how their business works from the inside out!
